Head Coach:
TJ Lancaster-13th Year
He took over the Goldsboro High School volleyball program in 2008. In 2011, TJ led the Goldsboro Cougars varsity team to their first state playoff appearance since 1986. He also oversaw the creation of Goldsboro High School's first ever Junior Varsity Volleyball team. He graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in History Education. He began his teaching career in the History Department of Wayne School of Engineering during its inaugural year in 2007. He currently serves as the Program Director of Eastern Elite Volleyball Club, where he has coached 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U and 18U teams. He served as head coach for W.A.V.E. Volleyball Club 18 White team during the 2012 season. TJ has served as the Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach for 5 years and the Assistant Varsity Girl's Basketball Coach for 6 years at Charles B. Aycock. TJ also helped lead the Lady Falcons Softball Team to State Championship Final Four Appearances in 2003, 2005 and 2006 during his 5 years as the Assistant Varsity Softball Coach. In 2014 TJ led the Goldsboro Cougars to the best season record in school history (12-9) and was named Eastern Carolina 2A Conference High School Volleyball Coach of the year. During the Hurricane Mathew shorten season of 2016, the Goldsboro Cougars matched their best record in school history (12 wins) and earned their 3rd playoff appearance under Coach Lancaster. In 2018, the Cougars set a new school record for wins (16) and recored their first state playoff wins and reached the 3rd Round of State 2A Playoffs. In 2019, the Cougar set a new record in total wins (19) and added another playoff appearance. The 2020 season saw the Cougars win their first Conference Title in school history and finished the regular season undefeated (12-0). They would go on the lose in the playoffs to the eventual State Champion, McMichael HS.
Upon leaving Goldsboro after the 2020 Season, TJ accepted an assistant coaching position at Lenoir Community College, where he spent two years helping game day planning and recruiting.
